Undergraduate Research as a model for educational revolution
I have already talked about undergraduate research and its benefits for those who engage in it, which I encourage those interested to read before diving into this article.
Undergraduate research programming is a relatively new addition to traditional undergraduate degree training, and we've already discussed how most universities don't do a great job educating their students about what research entails. For now, I believe institutions should integrate research into undergraduates' training as much as possible, but in the long run, undergraduate research programs might be a prototype of the experiential learning model that replaces mainstream STEM education as we know it.
